It may have been a grey and overcast day but inside the DurhamGate was Technicolor.
Residents enjoyed a movie matinee of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat! Singing along was highly encouraged, not that anyone would have been able to stop our Front of House Manager, Samantha joining in!
Residents have decided we should have sing a long musicals more often! We think that sounds like a great idea, next time, Calamity Jane!
The DurhamGate Care home hosted their July Pop Up Restaurant, this month they jetted off to Spain for an evening of Tapas.
Family and friends were invited to join our residents and our kitchen team, lead by Chef Karl, cooked up a huge array of fantasic Spanish tapas dishes. See the full menu here Spanish PopUp Menu
Everyone who joined in had a wonderful time! Muy Bien DurhamGate!
“Oh we do like to be beside the seaside, oh we do like to be beside the sea”
Weavers Court residents had their first seaside trip of 2024 to Bridlington & what a fantastic day it was!!
Residents had a stroll along the promenade taking in the fresh sea air, seaside fish and chips and of course, we had fun in the amusement arcades.
It was wonderful to hear them reminiscing of their childhood trips to the seaside and later on, taking their own children.
The gents from Weavers Court were treated to an incredible day ar Harewood House for The Great British Class & Motor Show.
The Motor Show had hundreds of classic cars & bikes, a real treat for our motor enthusiasts!
We also enjoyed a lovely walk near the beautiful historic house and lawns & found a lovely area to have a picnic.
They even spotted some cars they remembered owning and enjoyed talking about the interior of lots of them, a fantastic day was had by all!
